DAY 1 WINNIPEG – MINNEAPOLS, MN Today, we embark on an exciting journey into a different world of antebellum mansions, plantations, and Cajun cooking. Our travels will take us into the Deep South, where life moves at a slower pace. We can sit back, relax, and enjoy the experience along the way.
 
 
DAY 2 MINNEAPOLS – MERRILLVILLE, IN Next, we journey through Wisconsin, travelling along the edge of the picturesque Wisconsin Dells region before enjoying an overnight stay in Merrillville.
 
 
DAY 3 MERRILLVILLE – NASHVILLE, TN Indiana and Kentucky offer us the beauty of rolling hills and tree-covered mountains. We arrive in Nashville, the birthplace of country music, where you’ll be entertained at the Grand Ole Opry. Some of Nashville’s most famous stars may be there, and you never know when a surprise guest might appear!
 
 
DAY 4 NASHVILLE – MOBILE, AL Today, we leave the land of winter behind as we reach the Deep South and the Gulf of Mexico. With azaleas in full bloom and the warm Gulf breeze, we bask in the pleasures of this gentle climate.
 
 
Day 5 MOBILE – NEW ORLEANS, LA (3 NIGHTS) This morning, you will depart Mobile and travel along the Gulf of Mexico, stopping at the seaside city of Biloxi, Mississippi. Here, you’ll embark on an exciting and entertaining City Tour of Biloxi and a Cruise of Biloxi Bay on a shrimp boat (weather permitting). Watch as the captain sets his trawl and demonstrates the trade of the Biloxi fishermen.
 
Later, we continue along the Gulf Coast to Lake Pontchartrain for a spectacular 24-mile drive on the Causeway across the ‘longest bridge in the world that runs continuously over water’ to New Orleans—an exciting blend of old and new and the home of Dixieland jazz and Creole cooking. We’ll stay at the Sheraton New Orleans near the French Quarter. The rest of the evening is yours to explore.
 
 
DAY 6 NEW ORLEANS AREA Your deluxe motor coach will depart this morning for the famous Café du Monde, where you can enjoy delicious beignets and café au lait. This will be followed by a Guided City Tour, highlighting the French Quarter, Jackson Square, the Superdome, and the Garden District with its blend of French, Spanish, African, and Cajun architecture, among other notable sights.
 
After lunch, you have the option to visit Mardi Gras World, where you can explore the behind-the-scenes magic of the famous Mardi Gras celebrations. You’ll see the intricate floats, costumes, and sculptures that make the event so spectacular.
 
The rest of the day is yours to discover this charismatic city with its enchanting blend of Creole culture and cuisine, Old South tradition, and lively jazz. If you’re interested in live music, consider booking tickets ahead for Preservation Hall, a popular concert venue off Bourbon Street. You may also want to stop by the famed Pat O’Brien’s.
 
 
DAY 7 NEW ORLEANS AREA Start the day with a lively jazz brunch at the Court of Two Sisters, a historic restaurant known for its beautiful courtyard and traditional Creole cuisine.
 
Make the most of your free day to explore! You can ride the Charles Street Trolley, the oldest continually operated trolley system in the world. Stroll through the Garden District, visit Audubon Park and Zoo, experience the world-renowned Bourbon Street, take a guided tour of the city’s oldest cathedral, or book an afternoon class at the New Orleans School of Cooking.
 
 
DAY 8 NEW ORLEANS – LAFAYETTE, LA You will travel westward from New Orleans to Lafayette, in the heart of Cajun Country. For many miles, swamp lands will border our roadway. Our first stop is at the Tabasco Brand Factory & Museum on Avery Island, where you’ll take a self-guided tour to learn about this famous pepper sauce’s growing, crushing, ageing, and bottling process. Take some time to sample their excellent options in the gift shop and enjoy lunch on your own.
 
After lunch, we will visit LARC’s Acadian Village, a museum dedicated to preserving Acadian culture. This evening, join us for an authentic Cajun Dinner while listening to Cajun music in Lafayette.
 
 
DAY 9 LAFAYETTE – NATCHEZ, MS (2 NIGHTS) You can’t visit Louisiana without taking a swamp tour! The day begins with a Swamp Boat Tour into the Atchafalaya Basin, the largest wetland and swamp in the United States, teeming with wildlife and rich in natural beauty.
 
Next, we head to Louisiana’s capital city, Baton Rouge, where we will Tour the Tallest Capitol Building in the United States. Louisiana takes great pride in this historic building, which has a rich history worth exploring. Don’t miss the beautiful city view from the observation deck on the 27th floor, offering a stunning capture of the skyline.
 
Then, it’s off to Natchez, Mississippi, for an enchanting two-night stay.
 
 
DAY 10 NATCHEZ AREA This morning, a step-on guide will meet our coach at the State of Louisiana Delta Music Museum to tell intimate stories about Jerry Lee Lewis, Mickey Gilley, Aaron Neville, Conway Twitty, Fats Domino and other Delta musicians featured in the museum and listen to their famous songs. The owner of the Frogmore Plantation will ride with us on the coach and play specifically recorded blues, ragtime, and jazz while she highlights the artists and changes in style for each genre.
 
Mid-morning, you will step back in time on a visit to Frogmore Plantation, the only cotton plantation in the South offering a guided tour explaining the causes and effects of change on a working cotton plantation from the 1700s through today. It’s a one-of-a-kind experience. You will have the opportunity to feel cotton, tour the antebellum structures that date from the early 1800s, various exhibits, and take a journey through the South through song in the 1800s plantation church with outstanding vocalists and superior historical narration. After refreshments in the plantation store, we will stop for lunch (on your own).
 
Next, you will explore Natchez, much of which has been restored to its antebellum grandeur. We’ll visit Stanton Hall, a spectacular Antebellum Mansion popular in this area. Our step-on guide will join us for a Guided Tour Of Natchez that will include many interesting sites.
 
 
DAY 11 NATCHEZ – BRANSON, MO (2 NIGHTS) An enjoyable drive will take us through the state of Arkansas. Today, we’ll follow the great Missouri River Valley into the ‘Show Me’ State of Missouri, where our accommodations in Branson await us for a two-night stay. This evening, enjoy an Included Dinner.
 
 
DAY 12 BRANSON AREA A visit to Silver Dollar City is sure to bring excitement and adventure. This 1880s-themed park is dedicated to preserving Ozark culture, with artisans onsite demonstrating glassblowing, blacksmithing, pottery, candy, and candle making. Packed with rides and attractions, unique shops, restaurants, and various shows throughout the day, Silver Dollar City truly has it all!
 
 
DAY 13 BRANSON – KANSAS CITY, MO Visit Branson Landing this morning for some retail therapy at Dick’s Five & Dime, or take a stroll along the Landing with its variety of shops and sights.  After we leave Branson, be sure to save room for lunch at our included stop at Lambert’s Cafe. Next, we’ll take a short drive to visit Fantastic Caverns outside Springfield, Missouri. Once we arrive in Kansas City, enjoy the evening together at our Drury Inn for the night.
 
 
DAY 14 KANSAS CITY – BROOKINGS, SD We continue our journey north and enter South Dakota.
 
 
DAY 15 BROOKINGS – WINNIPEG, MB It’s homeward bound today, but not before we stop at the Terry Redlin Art Center to view masterpieces by one of America’s most celebrated painters. As we reflect on the memories of this tour and the new friendships that will last a lifetime, we head back home with hearts full of experiences to cherish.
